Glutathione Forte combines Reduced Glutathione and Quercetin in a single product at the maximum daily dose, as well as Naringenin, Selenium, and OxiP® (a proprietary blend of natural active ingredients with powerful antioxidant properties).

Reduced Glutathione for Antioxidant Supply
Glutathione is a natural protein substance composed of three amino acids: glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid. It is considered the king of endogenous antioxidants (produced by our own body). 3 It protects the body and the liver and supports their activity in neutralizing toxins, both those produced by our own body and those deriving from external agents. 4 Its dual function is therefore “protective” and “detoxifying.”

Glutathione is a fundamental element that is naturally produced by the liver, but unfortunately, its quantities are often insufficient to meet our needs. This is why we must supplement it. According to many studies, glutathione is also linked to the immune system, particularly as an immunomodulatory agent, useful for regulating the immune system’s response. We will explore this aspect in more detail in the “Experimental Phytotherapy” section.

Quercetin for natural protection
Obtained from the caper plant. The caper is the plant that contains the highest percentage of natural quercetin. 5 Many studies have shown that quercetin is particularly useful for protecting heart cells (those of the cardiac muscle), limiting the toxicity of certain pharmacological and non-pharmacological agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide, cisplatin, ciprofloxacin, manganese, cadmium, arsenic), supporting lung and joint function, and balancing blood pressure. All these aspects are supported by clinical studies that you can consult in the “Experimental Phytotherapy” section.

Naringenin to support the immune system
Obtained from the Chinotto fruit. Chinotto is a citrus fruit native to southern China (hence its common name) that spread to the Italian peninsula only in the 6th-7th centuries AD. Its origins are uncertain: it is likely a genetic evolution, through spontaneous selection, from bitter oranges. Naringenin (a flavanone) is one of the main active constituents naturally present in chinotto and gives it its typical bitter flavor. Several studies have demonstrated the positive effects of this molecule on the immune system, as an antioxidant, and in the proper metabolism of sugars and lipids. OxiP® with powerful antioxidant action
A registered blend of active ingredients with powerful antioxidant action. In particular, we find:

Bilberry: rich in anthocyanins, antioxidant substances beneficial for the skin, circulation, vein walls, vision, microcirculation, and lung tissue.
Gynostemma: An adaptogenic plant capable of increasing the body’s resistance to stress. It contains saponins (about 80 different ones), flavonoids, polysaccharides, amino acids, and trace elements useful for supporting heart and circulatory function.
Scutellaria: Helps support and modulate the immune system.

Selenium for the proper functioning of antioxidant mechanisms
A trace mineral that supports the proper functioning of antioxidant mechanisms within cells. Selenium is a cofactor for dozens of proteins, which are therefore called selenoproteins. It also participates in several other fundamental processes, from DNA synthesis to thyroid hormone metabolism, including antioxidant protection and reproduction. In this study, the researchers focused on the anti-inflammatory properties of glutathione in the pulmonary alveoli. To do this, they cultivated an in vitro model of alveolar epithelial cells and altered them with pro-inflammatory cytokines. They then introduced reduced glutathione, observing that this substance reduced the production and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The researchers suggest that these positive results can also be applied to the in vivo treatment of pulmonary disorders.
